Hong Kong Disneyland Star Fireworks VIP Dinner at Plaza Inn

25 April, 2010

One of the greatest highlight of any Disneyland Park around the world is definitely the Fireworks show in the evening.  The “Disney in the Stars” Fireworks Show transforms the sky above Sleeping Beauty Castle into a stunning evening spectacle at 7.30pm and last for about 20 minutes.  The main road just in front of the castle starts getting crowded with spectators as early as 6.45pm.  There are many great Disneyland travel deals on the internet.

For a more magical experience to round off your day of fun at Hong Kong Disneyland, you can consider the special Hong Kong Disneyland Star Fireworks VIP Dinner package at Plaza Inn, one of the restaurants near the castle.  For HK$300 (about S$60) per person with a minimum order of two, you can enjoy the following as part of the Star Fireworks Dinner package:

  • Pre-Show mocktail
  • Meet and Greet with Disney characters at Plaza Inn
  • Viewing the fireworks at a special VIP viewing area
  • Full course Chinese Dinner

You will be issued with a green Disney tamper-free wristband which gives you access to an exclusive viewing area right in front of the Sleeping Beauty castle.  This area is essentially a cordoned off public area but you will still have a clear view of the fireworks as most of the people in the non-VIP area in front of you will be seated.

And if you want to skip lines at Hong Kong Disneyland and get discounted ticket prices up to 50% off, check out Klook! They offer exclusive insider deals from skip-the-line passes and ticket collection is hassle-free. You will receive your e-ticket(s) instantly after you book with Klook. All you have to do is to show the e-ticket(s) at the entrance and you will be admitted straightaway.

For our pre-show mocktail, we had the delicious 世 外 桃 源 which is a mix of Peach, Orange, and Pineapple Juice.  If you are tired from a day of fun at Disneyland Park, you can come in Plaza Inn restaurant to rest your feet at your designated table as early as 1 hour before the fireworks show.  You will also be invited – yes you read correctly *invited* no need to queue – for a photoshoot with a Disney character; in our case, it was Goofy in an Oriental costume.  🙂

Just 10 minutes before the fireworks show, you will be ushered to the special VIP fireworks viewing area – a short 1 minute walk away from Plaza Inn.  There wasn’t a lot of people in this area – thus providing you with a comfortable experience in viewing the fireworks; no need to squeeze with sweaty and tired park visitors.  There are also benches around for you to rest.  The fireworks show is just spectacular – I will just let the pictures and the video below do the talking.

You can tell everyone is very amazed by the Fireworks just by the wow-wow-wow-oohs in this video (not taken by me):

After the Fireworks show, it’s time for dinner!  With such a delectable menu, I couldn’t ask for a better way to end such a magical day at Hong Kong Disneyland Park.  Our menu included:

  • 竹 笙 露 芛 鮮 蝦 餃 拼 蒜 茸 蝦 春 卷 (Giant Shrimp Dumpling with Bamboo Pith, Asparagus, and Shrimp Spring Roll)
  • 榆 耳 海 皇 羹 (Soup with Bean Curd and Diced Seafood)
  • 翡 翠 花 姿 帶 子 (Pan-fried Whole Scallops and Cuttlefish with Vegetables)
  • 洋 蔥 圈 牛 柳 條 (Seared Beef Fillets in Tangy Onion Dressing)
  • 鮑 菰 皇 扒 翡 翠 (Braised Seasonal Vegetables and Bailing Mushroom with Oyster Sauce)
  • 籠 仔 荷 葉 飯 (Fried Rice and Chicken in Lotus Leaf Wrap)

The portions were just right considering the number of different food in the menu and service was quick.  Again, I will just let the pictures do the explanation.  This menu was nicely wrapped up with a platter of Mickey-shaped jelly of different flavors.
