Hong Kong Disneyland Star Guest Program

23 March, 2010

One of the highlights of our Hong Kong Disneyland trip over the weekend was the Star Guest Program. Hong Kong Disneyland had launched a Star Guest Program from Mar 19 to May 23, which creates a platform to encourage Cast Members (Disneyland staff from the Disney characters to the park maintenance staff) to showcase their imagination by creating surprises and unique unforgettable moments for Guests.

To participate in this free Star Guest Program, guests can simply pick up a Star Recognition Pack from City Hall on Main Street U.S.A and turn their beloved family members and friends into a Star Guest. A Star Guest will encounter countless surprises and star experiences that are completely unexpected and this is on top of the excellent service the Cast Members already provide.

The Star Recognition Pack comprises of a bright yellow lanyard with ‘Star Guest’ marked all over it and a Disney collectible card as well as a badge emphasizing your status as a Star Guest.  How can any Cast Member miss the fact you are a Star Guest with all these accessories?! :-p

The cool thing about this Star Guest Program is that it is really surprises everywhere – you could be having your dinner at a restaurant in the Disneyland Hollywood Hotel and suddenly one of the Cast Members (waitress) comes by with a huge photo frame and ask if you would like to pose with it – an exclusive privilege of a Star Guest.

While posing for a picture with the Disney character, Goofy during breakfast at the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel Enchanted Garden, Goofy even offered to give us his signature on a tissue! (because we were Star Guest – we need not have an official Disney autograph book :-))

As we encounter “Magical Moments” and interaction with Cast Members, we also received 2 more collectible Star Cards to add onto our Star Guest tag – one of which was given by Pinocchio after we had a picture with him 🙂  We also collected a number of stickers given exclusively to Star Guests.  Sometimes, just browsing a gift shop in Disneyland Park, a Cast Member would approach you to play a game (really simple – just guess a few Disney characters) and you might win some gifts – a children’s storybook and more stickers.  Check out our collection of stickers after just one day in the Park!

This Star Guest Program was indeed one of the most interesting experience we had in Hong Kong Disneyland – do note that your Star Guest status is not applicable outside of the Park i.e. no special discounts if you are shopping in Kowloon :-p.  For more of our experience in Disneyland e.g. the yummy food and the awesome Fantasia Room in Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel, stay tune to our updates coming up next week 🙂

This Hong Kong Disneyland experience was sponsored by Hong Kong Disneyland and facilitated by Nuffnang.

You know My son and I missed that STAR GUEST BADGE when we had our DISNEYLAND tour last May 16, 2010…We got disappointed when we found out that thing. Though we had a wonderful time in DISNEYLAND. Its our first time actually. We will come back in HONGKONG on October 30 Until Nov. 3. Would you know if Star Guest badge still available on that date ? I would really like my son to have that too.

    Thanks a lot

I dont think there is a limit and not first come first served. however i am not sure if this star recognition programme is still ongoing (since we went last year). You will have to check with Disneyland hotel on the crystal lotus meal too as I am not sure on the exact pricing as we went on a media trip.
