Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta

5 January, 2010

Besides being home to huge government administrative buildings and national monuments, Putrajaya is also host to many major international events – the most prominent one being the Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. The 1st fiesta was held in mid March 09 over a weekend and it attracted a turnout of over 100,000 visitors.

This event’s main aim was to create a multi-racial / cultural event that promotes unity, with the theme: 1World, 1Malaysia, 1Fiesta.
* ONE WORLD: Balloonists from around the world participating in the fiesta with international tourists as spectators
* ONE MALAYSIA: Spectators from around Malaysia
* ONE FIESTA: Hot air balloons being the highlight of the event, there will also be many activities and entertainment that is conducive for all.

With many side activities and entertainment to keep spectators busy regardless of their age, this event also created opportunities for families to bond during this school holiday period.

Hot Air Balloon Putrajaya Fiesta

International Hot Air Balloon pilots from Japan, Switzerland, USA, Belgium, New Zealand, France and the Netherlands participated in the inaugural event with their unique balloon designs ranging from the funny e.g. cute elephants, clowns to the quirky e.g. orange and even a coffee mug!

A total of 23 hot air balloons from around the world participated in this event and there were various side activities e.g. Para-motors / para-gliders show, Remote control aircraft flying display and even Helicopter rides

Carnival favourites / funfair booths that provided face Painting, sand arts were also a hit with the kids and perhaps the most exciting event of the day is the night fireworks display that concludes this interesting festival.

The next Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta will be held from 18 to 21 March 2010. Check out the Putrajaya Hot Air Balloon Fiesta official site for the itinerary of this 4-day event.

Do note that the balloon displays start early daily at around 7am and end at 9+am. You will have to be an early riser if you intend to travel from Kuala Lumpur for this festival. Perhaps the next balloon might be an appropriate reference to what you might need when you arrive at Putrajaya for the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. 🙂

I just discovered your web site on yahoo and see that you’ve obtained some fantastic thoughts in this post. I particularly appreciate the way you’ve been able to stick so very much believed into a relatively short upload (comparitively) which creates it an thoughtful post on your subject. IMHO you put a lot of good information in this upload not having all of the filler that most bloggers use just to make their posts look longer, that is perfect for a gal like me who doesn’t have a lot time cause I’m generally within the go. I frequently get so frustrated with so many of the final results in the main SE’s due to the truth they often seem to mostly be filled with filler content that frequently isn’t quite sensible. Should you don’t mind I’m going to include this post and your weblog to my delicious favorites so I can share it with my family. I look forward to coming back to study your future posts too.

The hotair baloons are awesome. Especially the elephant one, it’s so cute. It’s like face painting but on a bigger scale. When it comes to designing what to paint, beginners often get stuck. What would the kids want? Well in answer to that question, here are some kids face painting designs for you. Let’s face it – not everyone is a Vincent Van Gogh or a Michael Angelo. But by simply taking the time to read a bit, you can learn to paint designs that children will love.
