Lime, the hotel’s signature open-kitchen concept, is an all-day dining restaurant at PARKROYAL on Pickering hotel which serves up a diverse range of Asian flavours and contemporary international favourites in lively theatrical fashion. Housed within the restaurant is a street-level bar, an ideal place to relax and unwind with a variety of classic cocktails, specialty wines and tapas-style snacks.

Before going into the food served at Lime, I thought that the restaurant’s interior design is definitely worth a mention – just like our PARKROYAL on Pickering Orchid Club Deluxe room which are beautifully designed and looked right out of an interior design/renovation magazine.  The feature that really stood out for us is how spacious the restaurant is – granted that Lime took up almost a third of the entire first level of PARKROYAL on Pickering; still we didn’t feel cramped when walking between from the buffet stations to our dining table (even when the restaurant is almost full house).  This was probably due to the open concept layout where the food are spread across a long line of buffet stations as well as two large “islands” in the middle of the restaurant – the mirrors at every part of Lime definitely helps to enhance the perception of space!

Another feature that we liked in particular was the natural lighting from the large floor to ceiling windows – perfect for reading newspapers while having breakfast at Lime.  Speaking of breakfast, you can expect a wide variety of food e.g. cold cuts, bagels, pastries, omelette, prawn noodles, fried rice – you name it they have it!  If you are not a coffee/tea fan, try the hot chocolate – one of the better ones I have tasted!

PARKROYAL on Pickering Lime’s Sunday Brunch International Champagne Buffet

The highlight of dining at Lime has to be its Sunday Brunch with a vast International buffet which includes a scrumptious range of dishes and the option of free flow Piper Heidsieck Champagne.  Every Sunday from 12pm to 3pm, the indulgent brunch features an impressive line-up of culinary delights including Mushroom Risotto and Herb-Crusted Cod Fillet, alongside tempting treats such as a Foie Gras Terrine and an array of twelve European Cheeses.

If you are into champagne and wine, the good news is you can experience free flow of Piper Heidsieck Champagne and selected Red/White House Wine during the Sunday brunch buffet by topping up about $30 on top of the normal buffet price!

At Lime, you can see the restaurant’s chefs in action preparing poached eggs, pastas, risottos and pan-seared Foie Gras from the live stations.  The Mushroom Risotto is a must try both because it is delicious and it is quite interesting to see the amount of effort going into preparing the dish – from cooking the risotto to stirring the cooked risotto in a 60-year old big lump of cheese (not sure what cheese is this) to enhance the fragrance of the risotto.

Alongside cold cuts of delicious meats and the decadent Fois Gras Terrine, you will be able to sample twelve types of European cheese, including Comte, Tomme de Savoie, Reblochon and Brie de Meiux, amongst others – if you are a cheese person, you will know this is quite an impressive selection and it is all you can eat!

Lime’s carving station will offer a wide selection of roasted meats including US Prime Rib, Guinea Fowl and Rack of Lamb.

Seafood and Sashimi will be served on ice and Lime waiters will move from table to table with freshly prepared pizzas, featuring an assortment of toppings.

If you just want some Chinese tze char food, you should try out the Wok-Fried Fresh Seafood – you can choose the sauces to cook your seafood with – Sambal or Kung Pao sauce (do note that the Sambal sauce can be quite spicy!).

The vast dessert selection will feature delicious cakes such as Key Lime Pie, Opera Cake and Tiramisu, as well as fresh fruit, a green tea chocolate fountain and an array of ice-creams and sorbets.

This Sunday brunch at PARKROYAL on Pickering Lime is the perfect way to while away a lazy Sunday afternoon in a relaxed and buzzy atmosphere.
