Sakae Sushi Woodlands Causeway Point
One of the best places to savor Japanese food is Sakae Sushi. It serves fresh sushi and a wide variety of meals ranging from teppanyaki to even tempura ice-cream, all at very affordable prices. Another plus point is its many outlets located all around Singapore, especially the Woodlands branch which is just beside a MRT station.
I like the Woodlands branch the best, not just because of its proximity to my house, but also its excellent use of natural lighting to brighten up the place, unlike other restaurants which make use of strong and bright light-bulbs that only makes you sweat as you eat. 
It took us quite some time to decide on our order because of the huge selection of different Japanese meals. The pictures itself looked very appetizing. If you are not able to reach a waiter during peak hours, simply click on the friendly “frog” on your table to make your orders via their in-house electronic order system. We will be testing this service later but first, let me grab a waiter for their recommendations.. :-p
After ordering a Soft Shell Crepes (see middle left picture) ~~interesting play on the word Soft Shell Crabs~~, we grabbed a few yummy sushi from the conveyor belt – Sun Maki and Flossy Makimono (see top left and bottom picture respectively)

The pricing structure of Sakae Sushi is quite simple; if it comes in a red plate, it cost $5.59, otherwise it is $2.29. Don (Rice) and Udon (Noodles) are priced differently.
One thing that you should try in Sakae Sushi is the Sakae Chawanmushi – steamed egg comprising a mixture of crab, vegetables, mushroom. Very good and cost only $2.29!
After our mini-feast, we decided to test out their electronic order system. Although the system indicates that it will take 15 minutes for our Tempura Ice-cream and Chicken Katsu Cheese Yaki order to be fulfilled, these meals were served in just 8 minutes! We are impressed .
These 2 dishes are just another of those must-try in Sakae Sushi ! The Chicken Katsu Cheese Yaki should be ate with the mini-salad on the side for the optimum eating experience. Only $6.99 and very filling (perhaps due to the thick cheese)
The Tempura Ice-Cream is just unique – a bit like fried ice-cream but a healthier version (not too oily). The servings are surprisingly big and it cost just $3.99.
