Review of Pan Pacific Singapore Harbour Studio Room Staycation
3 January, 2015We had reviewed our staycation experience at the Pan Pacific Deluxe Panoramic Room 4 years ago. We heard of Pan Pacific Singapore’s $80 million transformation in 2012 – we had to check out what’s new and Pan Pacific’s redesigned rooms with its guest-centric and functional enhancements. Here is a review of the Pacific Harbour Studio Room. This is a much larger room than the Harbour Studio Room (about 20sqm more) and comes with Pacific Club privileges as well as the breathtaking harbour view.
Featuring an open studio concept, the 65sqm (699sq-ft) Pacific Harbour Studio rooms come with a king-sized bed and a pillow menu where you can choose from a selection of buckwheat hull organic, foam, contour or coil polyester!
I loved the Pacific Harbour Studio room’s generous workspace and the ergonomic Herman Miller desk chair. The living room is also stocked with Nespresso coffee machine, tea making facilities and a fully-stocked e-fridge.
The in-room smart energy management system helps conserve energy by allowing guests to customise their room temperature settings and by automatically turning off the lights and air-conditioning when the room is vacant. There is no need to insert keycards to turn on and off power – the system will automatically detect your presence or absence and adjust accordingly!
The Pacific Harbour Studio room comes with full Pacific Club privileges – that means non-alcoholic drinks and snacks from the in-room mini bar e-fridge is complimentary! There are also two complimentary 1-litre bottles of Evian mineral water!
If I were to describe the Pacific Harbour Studio bathroom/toilet/vanity area in one word, it has to be “atas”. It is very spacious and comes with his and her sinks at the vanity area – separate cubicles for the toilet and shower and a huge Kaldewei bathtub and everywhere is marble – from flooring to sink tabletop. The shower cubicle is also fitted with premium Hans Grohe fittings and an indulgence rain shower. If you know the brands I rattled off, you will understand why I say atas (Singlish for luxurious).
The bathroom amenities pack is just as amazing – besides Elemis spa shampoo, bodywash, conditioner, Pan Pacific Singapore even provided a mini tiger balm – the fix-it for almost all ailments! Very interesting.

15 second introduction to Pan Pacific Harbour Studio during our #staycation with @panpacificsingapore
I mentioned earlier that the harbour view from the Harbour Studio rooms is one of the highlights of this Bed, Brunch and Bliss staycation. Our Pacific Harbour Studio room came with a balcony and we were able to take in the sights of the Singapore’s business district skyline and the iconic Marina Bay Sands and Singapore Flyer from the comfort of our room.
During the day, it can be quite bright and hot – that’s where my Transitions Lenses came in handy as they adapt to the brightness of the sunlight and the temperature to turn a shade darker to protect my eyes, allowing me to take in this spectacular view comfortably. With just sunglasses, I might not be able to see far very clearly and yet with Transitions Lenses, I enjoy the best of both worlds – clear vision without the discomfort of sunlight glare.
We just had to check out the harbour views at different time of the day e.g. sunset when you can see the whole Singapore skyline covered in yellow and orange.
The night view of the harbour from the Harbour Studio room is another not-to-be-missed experience – definitely don’t miss Southeast Asia’s largest light and sound show – the Wonderfull off the waters of Marina Bay Sands. Wonderfull is showing nightly with the following showtimes: Sunday – Thursday: 8:00pm, 9:30pm; Friday & Saturday: 8:00pm, 9:30pm, 11:00pm.
The Pan Pacific Singapore’s Sunday Champagne Brunch at Edge is one of Singapore’s longest brunches and it is available on Sundays from 12pm to 4pm. You can expect a vast array of presentations of seafood, grilled meat, cheeses and desserts. This is complemented with unlimited Veuve Clicquot champagne, wines, beers and cocktails! I had shared more about our Sunday Champagne Brunch experience at the Edge at another blog post – do take a look at it to know what to expect from this brunch experience.
The picture below is a preview of what you can expect from the Sunday Champagne Brunch Crustacean on Ice section which features Boston Lobster, 3 types of French and Canadian Oysters and many more for the seafood lovers!
Another plus point for a staycation at Pan Pacific hotel is its proximity to shopping centres e.g. Marina Square shopping mall and Millennia Walk – all within 3-5 minutes walk via covered walkways. Furthermore if you have plans to attend any IT or baby fairs at Suntec City, then a staycation at Pan Pacific is perfect for you to escape the crowds, store your loot and rest before going back for more. 🙂
