To me, the Singapore Spirit is about been the 2Ks: Kiasu and Kiasi. When we see a big crowd gathering at something, we always “chap” inside to see what’s happening. When something bad happens, everybody runs away. Not only that, having a “black” face has also been pretty common among Singaporeans. Everywhere we go, on the streets, we see people with glum faces. Even when watching Mr. Bean playing in an electronic shop, people still try to keep a straight face even though they’re laughing inside them. Despite the bad traits Singaporeans have, we are still good in other ways. For example, Singapore is safe, and also promotes Racial Harmony. This is what the Singapore Spirit is all about! Being safe, and being in harmony~ In short, the Singapore Spirit is simply indescribable, and I’m proud to be a Singaporean. 🙂 I hope to win this NDP preview tickets because I want to celebrate Singapore’s birthday with my fellow Singaporeans who also have the Singapore Spirit inside them! I LOVE SINGAPORE!!!

Shes waiting for her destined crafter, one who has the passion to polish her raw edges, and transform her into a polished diamond with its array of brilliance, all contained within this tiny rock. This is what the Singaporean Spirit means to me.

The ability to unite as one people, one nation, one Singapore and to carry and see Singapore through all rough time. The passion to craft our country’s future – from a tiny trading port to the sophisticated city it is now. United in hand, so that one day we may all say “Singapore is my diamond, and diamonds are forever”.

First of all, HAPPY 46TH BIRTHDAY TO SINGAPORE!!!

What SINGAPORE SPIRIT means to me…

Singaporeans from all over the world come together to celebrate our nation’s independence and pride together. As the pledge says, ‘regardless of race, language or religion’.
No matter what we do, we must always think we are one.
Another song that reminds us always about Singaporeans is ‘ One People, One Nation, One Singapore’.
We as Singaporeans should come together and make our country proud, regardless of whichever aspect we are focusing in.
And no matter where I go for holidays, within 2 days, I would feel like running back to Singapore. Cause of how well Singapore has advanced and it also shows how deep my nation is running in my blood.
Singapore’s flag comprises of 2 colours, red and white.
Our blood also comprises of these 2 colours.
I have never seen any other countries like Singapore, although we maybe just a little dot in the map, we are big in minds, hearts and kindness.
Security is at the top, no fear of going off at night alone.

    This is home truly…..
An Independent nation that i have seen so far…
    HAPPY 46TH BIRTHDAY TO SINGAPORE!!!
My best wishes to more and more advance things to be done and make our country proud in any aspects….
And I would do whatever I could to build my nation strong.

Our country may just be a red dot on the earth however when problems come we will be united as one and help one another when needed ( like during SARS period etc ) and people coming together to celebrate National Day . Because of having the Singapore Spirit , even if those who didn’t get NDP ticket they will still not miss the important moment of celebrating our country’s birthday through TV or being at the places where they can get view of the live show . Not forgetting the action of hanging Singapore Flag at the HDB Flats to show how much they practice Singapore Spirit and love their own country.

The SINGAPORE SPIRIT is all about the “miracle transformation” from a mere dark and small fishing village, to a lively, prosperous, vibrant, beautiful and “roaring” LION CITY of today! As quoted form our elder statesman, Mr Lee Kuan Yew, he once said that “Singapore Will Survive!” And true enough, after 46 years of independence, the little red dot has succeeded in her survival despite facing various obstacles all this years and continues striving to be ahead of other countries as well. All this would not have been possible if not for the strong and united Singapore Spirit in our fellow Singaporeans. 🙂

Watching the long and at times, overnight queues for schools, for good food, for our HDBs, and being able to immediately connect and associate with such unique behaviours. Silliness, some onlookers may say, but for us, Singaporeans, we know that we were once there, guilty of doing just that. Looking back, a little proud too, most dare say.

This is the spirit that lies within us. The never-say-die, never-give-up resilience in every individual demonstrated in the very little things that we do which defines us, Singaporeans.

The Singapore Sprit signifies us, as one big Singapore family, united and strong as one. The Singapore Sprit means to be supporting one another through thick and thin, no matter what happens. Just like a durian, which is known for its spiky appearance, only if we are united together then can we protect ourselves. If we are separated and are always fighting, we will be vulnerable.
Singapore can also be described as a “Rojak” dish. We have many mixed races, like Chinese, Malay, Indian and Eurasians. This makes us a special Country, and our spirt special.
Our Singapore Spirit also gives us the ability to trust one another, and to have confidence in our future. It allows us to soar, like eagles, to achieve great things. Our common trait most of us share; being kaisu, is also what binds us together.

The Singapore Spirit is the unity and togetherness that bond us together regardless of our diverse background, different belief and even speak a different mother tongue. Our heart beat as one as we share this homeland for our future, progress and prosperity. We will always respect each other and be accepting with each other differences. We maybe a small country but we are just like the precious red ruby – small but valuable and durable. Never fear Singapore!
