Pod Wawelem (At the Foot of the Castle) Kompania Kuflowa
Just a ten minute walk from the Dragon’s Den, the Pod Wawelem Kompania Kuflowa was another restaurant highly recommended by Greg and Tom hostel staff. Every Monday, they have a promotion for Warka Beer – 1 litres for 7zł and a huge schnitzel served with fries for only 15zł.

The ambiance of the restaurant was also quite good. There are also some good-looking waitresses. :-p See their website for some examples of good looking Pod Wawelem Kompania Kuflowa waitresses.

I ordered a 0.4 litre of their Warka Beer for 2.80zł – even cheaper than apple juice (Sok jablkowy – 6zł) or coke.

TY and I shared the huge schnitzel with fries with apple strudel (16zł). Schnitzel is essentially chicken cutlet – similar to what we had the previous night at U Babci Maliny. This also comes with a free plate of lettuce and cucumber as appetiser.

We were also given a shot of very strong vodka each after the meal.

We rate Pod Wawelem Kompania Kuflowa restaurant:
- Food (so-so, room for improvement for the apple strudel): 3/5
- Ambiance (nice layout): 3.5/5
- Service (helpful and friendly; pretty waitresses): 4.5/5
- Location (near Wawel Castle – easy to find): 4/5
- Value (19.90/pax for main course + drink + dessert): 4/5
