Top 3 Ibiza Party Destinations
18 May, 2012If you are on the look out for last minute holidays this year, and are desperate to go somewhere that knows how to party, then Spain is probably on your list. With a huge host festivals, from the Tomatina in Buñol near Valencia and Benidorm Holidays to the huge celebrations which mark 23rd June, Dia de Sant Joan, in Barcelona, you’re spoilt for choice.
But for many people sniffing out a party-lovers’ bargain and before you book your flights to Alicante, it’s about club culture rather than home-grown culture. For that, there’s always the Balaeric Islands, and Ibiza in particular. As the home of house music (or the adopted home, at least), Ibiza’s megaclubs and bars has made it a party haven for summer revelers and dance music afficionadoes. Here are our top three places to party in this island that never sleeps:
Ibiza Town
The capital, and rightly revered as the classic choice for an Ibiza experience, with its lovingly kept old streets and hippy markets, this will also give you a taste of Ibiza by day (though it’s a pretty chi-chi picture…).
The Port area is also host to some excellent boat parties – good to get on to if you know someone who knows someone. But Eivissa is also home to some of the biggest and best clubs on the island – Pacha, El Divino and Amnesia. Otherwise check out Space on Tuesdays with Carl Cox through the summer.
Playa d’en Bossa
On-again off-again on-again hip spot that’s building a reputation as a slightly more luxe version of the notorious foam parties and cheap vodka shots that made San Antonio’s (less than sparkling) reputation on the Sky reality TV series. Recently opened Ushuaia Beach Hotel has David Guetta this July, and it’s also a great spot for a beach party. Check out Bora Bora Bar for cocktails and dancing, in the middle of the beach.
San Antonio
Hard to say no to, and the clubber’s paradise if all you want to do is drink, party, sleep, drink party and maybe a few other things we cannot appropriately mention here… San Antonio has the biggest and densest concentration of clubs and bars in Ibiza; however it’s also a beautiful place to catch the sunset from. Café Mambo hosts some awesome pre-Pacha parties, and the Café del Mar is a lovely spot too.
